Rank structure of the police department
The Police Department has multiple ranks available to players. Below is a small descriptions of the roles and responsibilities for each.
Chief of Police 

The Chief of Police oversees all operations of the police department and has the final say on any and all situations that may arise. The Chief commonly meets with all supervisors and receives their input for ways to make the department grow and thrive.
Assistant Chief of Police 

The Assistant Chief of Police and Deputy Chief of Police keep the Chief of Police in formed of all operational activities on a day-to-day basis. The Assistant Chief directs the activities of either the administrative or operational side of the Police Department. They oversee command staff operations and help the Chief along with other command staff members in making decisions relevant to the department.
Deputy Chief of Police 

The Deputy Chief of Police is part of the "Team of Chiefs" who make major final decisions and aid each other in making those decisions. At their rank, they have the same duties as Captains, however for the entire department instead of just the respective subdivision. They oversee all policies, divisions, supervisors, and procedures. The Deputy Chief usually helps make large decisions such as subdivision supervisors picks, SOP review, promotion reviews and other administrative duties.
Captain 

Captains are the subdivision leaders within the police department. There are only limited captain positions available within the police department and these are earnt on a selection only process. They oversee all operations in their respective jurisdiction and act as the watch commander. They report to the "Team of Chiefs" about the progress of any and all supervisors, patrol units, department police and much more. Most things brought to them by Lieutenants are handled by them unless they deem it necessary to move up it up the Chain of Command. The current sub-divisions controlled by a Captain include:
Los Santos Police Department
Blaine County Sheriff Department
San Andreas Highway Patrol
San Andreas Detective Division
Special Weapons and Tactics
Lieutenant 

Lieutenants are the highest supervisor rank available. They oversee all Sergeants and hold watch commander positions when on patrol. Occasionally they will do checks on all the subdivisions standard operating procedures. Lieutenants help command staff by giving input on big department policy changes.
Both Captains and Lieutenants only hold this rank in their respective subdivision. When playing in a different subdivision, they will only hold the highest rank of Sergeant. Please note Detectives and SWAT are different and have their own ranking structure.
Sergeant 

They Sergeant rank is the first supervisory role in the police department. They coach lower ranked officers and act as assistants to both Captains and Lieutenants. They are in-game supervisors, take scene command and can assign units to certain areas or tasks. Sergeants usually work together to support the patrol and take it in turns to manage and area. Multiple sergeants are often not needed on scene, however can be useful in certain scenarios.
Corporal 

Corporals are police officers who have set themselves apart from others by helping and excelling at their duties. These officers commonly take command of scenes until a higher ranking officer arrives. Obtain the Corporal rank enables you to join subdivisions such as SWAT and Detectives.
Patrol Officer
Patrol officer is the rank given to all officers in the department. A badge number request needs to be submitted by apps.rro.nz to obtain a callsign. Their duties include traffic stops and responding to calls. As officers skills progress, they begin to move up through the ranks.
