Patrol Procedure

Uniform Guidelines

Uniforms should be kept neat and tidy at all times. Uniforms are to be worn in compliance with all Subdivision Regulations (LSPD, BCSO). On patrol detectives have the option to wear business attire with a patrol vest on or full LSPD/BCSO uniform with the proper rank and markings. If at a crime scene processing things the detective has the option to take his patrol vest off and wear a gun holster, radio, cuffs, and badge.

Vehicle Guidelines

Vehicles should be kept neat and tidy at all times. Vehicles are to be utilized in compliance with all Subdivision Regulations (LSPD,BCSO). On patrol detectives have the option to use any car available to them. Please note: When on patrol an unmarked vehicle shall not be a leading vehicle in the pursuit unless it is warranted (Ex. The unmarked unit is the initiating or backup unit to their initiating vehicle. Once safely able to and communicated the unmarked unit should trail back some in the pursuit.)

Response Guidelines

All Detectives should respond to calls for service in the manners established by each Subdivision (LSPD, BCSO). As explained above, when safe and able to do so unmarked units should drop back in a pursuit. However all unmarked units are able to respond to calls and attempt to make traffic stops as deemed necessary.
